Veronica Rotman is a marine scientist, current doctoral candidate, and science communicator with a background in microplastics research. She tutors and lectures at tertiary institutions in New Zealand and sits on the Sustainable Seas National Science Challenge Stakeholder Panel.  Having set up and delivered a Sustainable Aquaculture program in Kaitaia to members of the Muriwhenua, Veronica treasured her time and learnt a lot about Mātauranga Māori and her students innate cultural connection with the ocean.

She is motivated to try and make tertiary ocean education opportunities accessible to all in Aotearoa. Veronica deeply loves the ocean and freediving to source kaimoana sustainably.
